Dear Friends

 

Most of you will know (in fact most of you were there) that last Sunday we visited a potential new home for the Liberty Church family and throughout the visit and during the fellowship lunch afterwards there was a real sense of excitement.  I have to say that I loved taking the church round the building and spelling out some of the vision.  The best part for me, however, was right at the end of the visit, praying together as a family and then singing the chorus of “How Great is Our God”.  It was a wonderful sound of worship and probably the first time that has happened in that building, and indeed that Business Park.

 

There are still many questions that need to be answered and obstacles to overcome as we move forward with this venture but I do believe that, unless God says otherwise, we continue to press ahead with this venture.  I love the thought that in a year’s time we could have firmly established a presence in that place and in the surrounding business and residential community.  I love the thought that our Christmas Celebration in 2013 could be in that space.

 

I know that if this is to become a reality for us then it will cost us.  It will mean pushing out into deep water, to a place where we are trusting in God and committing ourselves, our time, our resources, to see this happen.  I do not want to this building, however, in any way to detract from the life and ministry of Liberty Church, but on the contrary to enhance and unite the church.  If this is to happen it will mean that our focus remains clearly on Christ and his kingdom.  

 

I love being part of Liberty Church and regardless of whether we make that building our home or not, I am excited about our future.  In the midst of all the excitement I pray that you have a peaceful and joyful Christmas.
