Letter from Jon, September 2018

 Dear Church Family

As part of our focus this year on ‘Pressing In’, a number of us have been meeting regularly on Sunday evenings to worship and to pray for the Church as we press into Liberty Centre, and as we seek to see God’s Kingdom come in our community.  These have been powerful and exciting times of worship and prayer together.  A couple of weeks ago we met to pray in the gathering area of Liberty Centre, which is the phase we are looking at moving into at the end of this year.  As we prayed, however, I kept being drawn to the area which will be our auditorium, and the main place of worship for the Church Family once it is developed.  Although there is a ‘bit’ of work to do in this area I kept seeing it as it would be once it is up and running, and found myself getting excited again at the potential that is within this building.

As I moved from the gathering area with its lower roof into the bigger space of the auditorium with its high roof, I had the sense that God was inviting us as a Church to inhabit a bigger space; that there was a bigger space of faith, of blessing, of power and presence that was ours to walk into.  As I shared this with those gathered we walked together into the auditorium and began to sing out praise to God together, and it was a different sound from our worship in the gathering area; a bigger sound as our voices filled this high roofed space.  I believe that God is not only inviting us into a bigger space but he is inviting us to make a bigger sound; a bigger impact on the community around us, a bigger voice into our world.

As I mentioned in my message last Sunday, I know that God loves Liberty Church.  He is with us and for us, his desire is to bless us, and the more we surrender our lives to him and trust in him I know that we will find ourselves in a bigger space, making a bigger sound.  Let us continue to press in as we move into this exciting season for Liberty Church.

Love and Blessing

Jon
