Letter from Jon, March 2018
Dear Friends
It has been an exciting month as we continue to press in together. Walls have been coming down as work really gets under way in Liberty Centre, and I realise I am irrationally excited at seeing a wall disappear. To some it might just seem like a lot of mess but to me it is a step towards inhabiting our new home. I am also delighted at the response for people volunteering to come in over the next Saturdays to remove tiles and fill skips. At the same time we are starting to establish strong links with trades professionals to work with us in creating our own Liberty Centre.
At the same time that we are pressing in to our new home there is a tangible excitement around the Church family about pressing in to the presence of God together. I have noticed it in our Sunday worship together and in conversation with a number of people. It was definitely there last Saturday as we met as men together with Kenny Borthwick to 'seek His presence'. Our increased emphasis on healing has brought a greater awareness of God’s power at work in us and through us, and there is a rise in faith for more.
Over the last two weeks I have preached about our need to trust God and to seek his kingdom above all things, that we might be ready for whatever God has in store for us. I am aware, also, that we do this in the face of many challenges and personal circumstances that could easily knock us off course. Now is a time, more than ever it seems, for us to stand together, supporting those who are going through great difficulties and truly being family. I am, yet again, grateful to be a part of the Liberty Family and I believe our desire to press in will meet with great reward.
Love and Blessings
Jon
